The Elevator Limit Switch RL8108 is a simple mechanical safety device used in lift systems to prevent over-travel at both the top and bottom ends of the hoistway. As a lift safety switch, it acts as a final line of defence when the car reaches its travel limit. A small roller on a metal arm gets pushed by the moving lift car. This triggers the elevator mechanical switch to open the safety circuit and stop the motor immediately.
